Police in CCTV appeal to find woman's attacker

POLICE in Leeds have released a series of CCTV images in a bid to identify a man following an indecent assault on a lone female.

The incident occurred on Tuesday 4 January shortly after the 20-year-old woman got off the number 56 bus at Sherburn Road near to the junction with Baildon Path just before 10pm.

As she walked on Hebden Green the suspect approached the victim from behind before carrying out an indecent assault.

He was then seen to run off back across fields in the direction of Sherburn Road.

Despite a search of police systems officers have not been able to identify the man and they are now asking the public for their help.

In the CCTV footage the man is seen boarding the bus from Woodhouse Lane, Leeds near Yates Bar at 9.21pm. He initially sat on the top deck and engaged two females in conversation before later moving to the lower deck.

He was then seen to get off the bus on Sherburn Road at the same time as the victim.

He is described as a white male, teens to early twenties, slim build with dark coloured, moderately long hair. He is seen wearing a sports style dark coloured jacket which has distinctive yellow patches on the underside of each sleeve and yellow writing on the left arm.
