Kate Froggatt, eight, has won a place in the national final of the Top Trumps championship after beating 100,000 other youngsters who took part in regional heats.
The competition will take place at the Science Museum in London and will involve 71 other pupils from schools around the country who are all aiming to win the £1,000 for their school.

Hide AdTop Trumps spokesman Fiona Hortopp said Kate, who attends Charnock Hall School, had done “fantastically well” to reach the grand final.
Top Trumps cards were first sold in 1977. They have recently been revived with modern children’s characters and subjects.
