Patients’ anger prompts hospital car parking action

COMPLAINTS about parking at Airedale Hospital near Keighley have prompted managers to create more space for staff and visitors.

Work started this week to prepare for an extra 79 staff-only spaces between the former nurses’ accommodation, while another 80 are planned for the public on the West car park.

Construction work will take around three weeks.

A Trust spokesman said patients were becoming “distressed” about the car park situation, with some missing appointments. “Our plans will mean that there are more car parking spaces at Airedale Hospital than ever before.”
