It is so difficult to speak to a human when trying to navigate the web, whether it is for train tickets (if there is no ticket office), or purchasing so many things. We are told it is perfectly safe to give your card details but is that really so?

Yes I am aware that personal codes are not requested but one hears of the government (remember the NHS being hacked a few years ago?) and large corporate companies being hacked even though they have the latest up-to-date equipment and firewalls.

And so the more our personal information is on a database somewhere surely the risk is greater.

These days it is becoming harder to purchase – even banks are closing and Post Offices and we are being driven towards a cashless society.

This may be wonderful for young people who are able to navigate their way through, but for older people and even those who do not own a laptop or IPhone it is becoming stressful.

How often do you find yourself with a series of options only at the end of these options still not able to speak to a human? Even young people may find at the end of the day they are vulnerable.

People are being isolated and the media still delight in bad news. Even today seeing the terrible situation in Israel. Afghanistan, Syria and elsewhere in the world perhaps it is time some thought was given to those who may live on their own.

I am fortunate in that I have a loving family, but many do not and when you see how governments of all shades waste money perhaps we could go back to basics, i.e. caring for the citizens not just in this country but the world and reach out with another human.
