Why is our Nightingale Hospital not treating patients? – Yorkshire Post Letters

CAN anyone provide me with a satisfactory answer to the following questions?

Why has the Nightingale Hospital in Harrogate not had a single Covid-19 patient while the District Hospital has built up a huge backlog of routine treatments due to Covid patients being dealt with there?

Why is the council allowing hundreds of new houses to be built without the supporting structures of medical services, schools and roads?

Harrogate Convention Centre was converted into a Nightingale Hospital earlier this year.Harrogate Convention Centre was converted into a Nightingale Hospital earlier this year.

Why is the council not pushing for a park and ride system to ease traffic congestion in the town when it works so wonderfully well for York?

Why is the council planning to spend £47m on a refurbishment of the Convention Centre in the probably false belief that  the Government will provide a substantial part of the cost?

Answers on a postcard please.

WE are ruled by so-called experts, who seem to have no idea about anything much when it comes to what is best for the human race. They do, however, have very good ideas when it comes to looking after themselves.

Wisdom and common sense (have they any?) tells us to think for ourselves, and decide what we think is best for us all. Quite often the opposite to what the “experts” tell us.

They tend to change their minds at the drop of a hat (or mask) as the case might be.

WITH so much advice about how to manage coronavirus, I have come up with my own method of keeping myself safe. I wash my hands as much as possible, keep myself two metres away from others and wear a mask if I have to shop or use public transport.

So far it’s working for me.
