My hope to see William as King

From: Peter R Hyde, Driffield.

HAVING followed the visit of William and Catherine to Canada, I now have a sincere hope that I will live long enough to see the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, crowned King.

With Catherine by his side, he has made a marvellous success of his first royal tour as a married man and has proved himself to be a kind, considerate and brave man.

Catherine’s sunny nature has complemented his every visit.

They have been a credit to the Royal Family and, in fact, to us all. I am a Yorkshireman and proud of it.

They have also made me proud to be British.

Madeleine – the search goes on

From: Clarence Mitchell, Find Madeleine Campaign.

REGARDING your use of the word “murdered” when referring to Madeleine McCann (Yorkshire Post, July 6).

Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, would like it made very clear that there is absolutely no evidence that Madeleine has come to any physical harm.

Their search for their daughter is very much continuing – as Kate has made perfectly clear in her recent book about the ongoing campaign to find Madeleine.

Way of cutting power bills

From: Anthony Hopkins, Carlton Drive, Guiseley.

IN the report (Yorkshire Post, July 7) relating to the River Bain hydro project, Coun Yvonne Peacock states “for four days it ran brilliantly and we were making good electricity”.

Can it be assumed from her statement that they also have the secret of producing poor or indifferent electricity?

Perhaps we can all benefit from some second-grade electricity, at a reduced price of course. I wouldn’t mind waiting a few extra minutes for the toaster to pop up.
