IT would seem that we are entering a crucial phase of negotiating our escape from the tyranny of the EU bureaucracy, with Michel Barnier calling for support for his tough negotiating manner from his bosses, the German and French leaders Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron respectively.

I hope that Boris Johnson 
has made it perfectly clear the EU bureaucrats that, as we 
make our final escape from their idiotic economic union in December 2020, only British fishermen will have the right to fish within our traditional fishing grounds.

I do, of course, realise that this will upset so many of our European cousins, but they will have to lump it.

TERRY Wright tells another reader to accept the EU referendum result (The Yorkshire Post, August 26).

More might accept it, Mr Wright, if the Government was delivering on promises made in 2016 by the Boris Johnson-fronted campaign.
