Ecclesiastical pecking order

From: Iain Morris, Shipley.

IN your front page story on the Church of England (The Yorkshire Post, May 10), you twice make mention of “Leeds and Ripon” when the diocese is in fact the diocese of Ripon and Leeds.

The historic Ripon Cathedral – Leeds has never had an Anglican cathedral – stands on what I believe is one of the most ancient Christian sites in the country, which will, of course, pre-date the Church of England by many centuries.
