Yet they’re also words that the Prince William would, in turn, say about this remarkable lifesaver, from Leeds, who decided that he wanted to train to be paramedic when he returned home from school, switched on the television and watched a programme about first responders.
But it is the young man’s personality that shines through from his rapport with those elderly patients who recount their life stories – he’s a good listener – to sharing motivational messages like “be the person you want to meet”. As such, one is left in awe of Matondo and his colleagues. They’re a credit to their city, county and country – and fully deserving of this Royal recognition.
