Archbishop of York’s legacy of love and charity – The Yorkshire Post says

He will also be remembered as the leader who helped to reconnect the Church of England with its parishoners and empower, and encourage, its work in communities.

It is typified by Acts 435, the online giving charity which the Archbishop launched a decade ago to enable donors to give directly to individuals who are in poverty or crisis situations.

Emblematic of his entire mission, and proactivism, not only has the organisation now raised more than £2m in donations over the past 10 years, but it has also helped 22,000 people with varying needs from cookers and beds to help travelling to hospital appointments.

The humanity behind the charity is needed now more than ever. It will also be one of Dr Sentamu’s most valuable and significant legacies.
