A number of tapestries, the property of the late Rosalind, Countess of Carlisle, and removed from castle Howard, were sold at Sothebys yesterday. A set of three panels of English Soho tapestry representing Queen Anne were sold for £385. Three very fine panels of Mortlake tapestry, giving the story of Hero and Leander, realised £400.
