McDonald's farm offer for Olympics

The public has been invited to visit some of the British farms that will supply the London 2012 Games.

With 14 million meals to be provided in just four weeks, the London 2012 Games is set to be Britain's biggest peacetime catering operation.

champion British agriculture. The farms used by McDonald's will also provide meals for athletes and organisers.

Several Yorkshire farms will be involved in the project, with Yorkshire produced beef, pork and potatoes on the menu.

Food at previous Games has been "poor", London 2012 chairman Lord Coe admitted but he described the olympics as "a genuine opportunity for British agriculture".
