Man held over Bradford care home attack on woman, 94

The defenceless victim was attacked at Rosewood Court residential home in Shakespeare Close, Bradford, after a man climbed in through a window.

She was discovered just after 10.30pm on Friday, and had been attacked in the bathroom of her ground floor room.

She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where her condition tonight was stable.

The incident was being investigated by West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the aggravated burglary at a care home in Shakespeare Close in Bradford which left a 94-year-old resident with serious head injuries.

"Inquiries remain ongoing and the victim remains in a stable condition in hospital."
