Man arrested after five-car smash in Keighley

A man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a crash involving five cars in Keighley.

The crash is believed to have happened when a red VW Golf travelling towards Bradford was collided with a green Toyota Yaris, which was travelling in the same direction.  

It also involved a black Ford Focus, a grey Volvo V40 and a blue VW Golf.

The 26-year-old male driver of the red VW Golf suffered head and chest injuries in the collision on Sunday afternoon.  

He is currently in hospital in a stable condition.

The man arrested, who is 26, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Today police appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 1.08pm on the A650 close to the junction with the A6035 Bradford Road. 

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the movements of the red Golf or the Yaris prior to it.
