Leeds legends back Revie statue project

LEEDS United legends, Allan Clarke, Peter Lorimer, Norman Hunter, Paul Reaney, Trevor Cherry, Eddie Gray, Mick Bates and Terry Yorath gathered yesterday to give their backing to plans for a statue of their former boss Don Revie at Elland Road.

Plans were announced in May for a 7ft bronze statue to celebrate Revie's successful years at Leeds United. About 30,000 has been raised towards the 90,000 target.

The former players signed copies of a magazine about Revie which are being given to fans who have donated 250 towards the statue fund. They also receive a mini Revie statue. Barnsley-based artist Graham Ibbeson is set to start work on the statue in January.
