THIEVES have stolen property worth £9,000 from a farm in Slaithwaite near Huddersfield.

A laptop, jewellery, a cash card and several designer watches were stolen from the property while the owners were away.

Thieves broke into the farm on Cop Hill Side between 10.15am on Friday February 11 and 12.30am on Saturday February 12, although West Yorkshire Police only released details of the break-in yesterday.

The burglary was discovered by a neighbour who had been checking the house for the couple who live there.

The stolen jewellery included a man’s 18-carat gold signet ring stamped with the initials “JAW” and an 18-carat gold diamond ring.

Four designer men’s watches – a gold Omega, a gold Tissot, a Seiko Aviator and a Sekonda – were also taken.

According to officers, the Omega and Tissot watches are of “great sentimental value”.
