Hit-and-run victim calls for cycle safety
Former engineer Graham Andrews, 45, suffered devastating spinal injuries after being knocked eight feet into the air by a motorist as he cycled to a nearby beach one Sunday evening nearly six years ago.
Two passers-by alerted by his flashing red light found him sprawled unconscious on a grass verge two hours later and called the emergency services.

In a year which has seen more than a dozen cyclists killed on London’s roads alone, father-of-three Mr Andrews has called for better safety measures for riders.
Mr Andrews, from East Preston near Worthing, said: “More needs to be done to make the roads safe.”
