High price for perfection
A SOTHEBY’S employee holds a flawless 118-carat white diamond, which is estimated to fetch between £18m and £22m, when it comes up for auction.
It was on display during a preview of the auction house’s forthcoming London Rocks sale in October, when two diamonds, the white diamond and the world’s largest round fancy vivid blue diamond, a 7.59 carat stone, estimated in excess of £12m, are expected to fetch over £30m between them at the sale.
