'Give out-of-date food to homeless'
The Government has told supermarkets to donate out-of-date food to feed the homeless instead of throwing it away.
Environment Secretary Hilary Benn, MP for Leeds Central, has written to all major retailers asking them to sign up to schemes that help the needy. He singled out charity FareShare, which gives surplus to the homeless, elderly and families who struggle to make ends meet.
