Funeral can go ahead for alleged murder victim

THE family of a Holmfirth woman whose body was found in a suitcase have been told they can now hold her funeral.

The body of mother-of-two Marie Stewart, 30, a classroom assistant, was found in the garage of the home she shared with music teacher Andrew Lindo, 28, who is accused of murder.

Yesterday an inquest in Bradford heard that two post mortem examinations had been carried out and the cause of death had been established as stab wounds to the neck and blunt force trauma.

Miss Stewart’s family want her to be buried in a funeral ceremony in Huddersfield, which can now go ahead, the court heard.

Lindo has been charged with the murder of his partner at their home address some time between December 17 last year and February 14.

Police found her body last month after they were contacted by relatives who had not seen her since Christmas.
