Four held after Scarborough murder hunt
North Yorkshire Police officers launched the murder inquiry after a man, aged in his 30s, was found critically injured by paramedics in the flat on Queen’s Terrace at about 11.40pm on Wednesday.
Despite the efforts of the paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Four men were arrested a short time later at a nearby property in Queen’s Terrace and were taken into police custody for questioning, which was continuing yesterday evening.

Hide AdChief Inspector Mark Grange, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Command, confirmed no-one else was being sought in connection with the death, and added: “I would like to reassure people that this is an isolated incident which is not linked to any previous assaults in the area.
“All of the individuals connected to this tragic incident have been identified and four local men have been arrested. Officers are undertaking high visibility patrols in the area while enquiries continue. This is to provide extra reassurance to the local community who are naturally concerned by what has happened.”
An area of Eastborough was closed to allow forensic specialists to search for evidence, and re-opened early yesterday afternoon.
A separate murder inquiry was launched in Scarborough in April after the death of Michael Graham, 19, who was stabbed in a brawl near the Olympia amusement arcades on Foreshore Road. Police made a series of arrests, and a 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder.
