Formal warning for 'Bloodgate' doctor

The doctor at the centre of the "Bloodgate" fake injury rugby scandal, Dr Wendy Chapman, said she was pleased that she could return to medicine and hoped to put an 18-month nightmare behind her.

Yesterday, a General Medical Council panel lifted her interim suspension but issued a formal warning for serious misconduct after she cut the lip of a Harlequins player who had faked injury to allow a substitute to take his place.
