Fears over woman missing nearly two weeks

FEARS were growing last night for a woman who has been missing from her home for almost two weeks.

North Yorkshire Police have launched a nationwide hunt for Mandy Bishop, 34, of Bishopgate Street, York.

Police say she has not been seen by her family or friends for almost two weeks but she was only reported missing by a friend at 1pm on Saturday.

Officers have been searching the home, which she shares with her mother, throughout the Easter weekend and have been combing the surrounding area of Skeldergate around the River Ouse.

Inspector Shaun Sutcliffe, of York Police, say they are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

He said: "Mandy's disappearance is completely out of character which is why there is a high level of concern for her welfare.

"We have issued a UK-wide appeal on the police national computer.
