Farmer dies after being trampled by bull in Yorkshire field

A farmer has died after being trampled by a bull in Hambleton.

Emergency services were called to a field south of Hutton Rudby at around 3.20pm yesterday (Monday) to reports of a man who had been injured by a bull.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate the man, a local farmer in his 60s but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Northallerton and Bedale Inspector Dave Murray said: “Police are investigating this tragic incident but believe there are no suspicious circumstances.

“The man’s family is being supported by specially-trained officers at this incredibly difficult time”.

The bull is due to be slaughtered.
