Euro Lottery win makes dreams come true for couple
Bernard Grundy, 71, and partner Heather Clarke, 62, had spent Christmas in Wensleydale, where they have a small apartment, before coming home to Hull on Sunday.
Mr Grundy said: “I hadn’t bought our EuroMillions ticket, so nipped to the local paper shop and bought two Lucky Dip lines for the draw along with a bottle of wine.

“As the numbers loaded up I couldn’t believe my eyes! I shouted up to Heather to come downstairs, as she had just gone upstairs to start getting ready for bed. We were shocked as we checked and re-checked our ticket. I even fired up the computer to triple check, I typed in our raffle number on The National Lottery website and it said we’d won!”
The pair now plan to buy a home in the Yorkshire Dales and Bernard, who is a keen fisherman, plans to splash out on some new fishing tackle along with a new van.
The couple are also looking forward to going on holiday to celebrate his 72nd birthday in February.
