Ennis to receive honorary doctorate
WORLD champion heptathlete Jessica Ennis will receive an honorary doctorate from Sheffield University next week – less than three years after she graduated from the institution with a degree in psychology.
Ms Ennis, 23, who was born and brought up in Sheffield, will be one of five people to receive the honour at ceremonies taking place at the university's Octagon Centre next Thursday and Friday.
The athlete recently came third in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year event, held at Sheffield Arena, and has been singled out by academics after her world championship win in Berlin last year.
