Emmerdale 'vicar' speaks out on communities
EMMERDALE actor John Middleton was in Leeds to support Communities Secretary John Denham launching the Labour campaign in the city.
The actor who plays Ashley is backing the Labour campaign in the Leeds area because he believes that the Conservative Party are not in touch with estate communities in the area.
Speaking at the launch, alongside Communities Secretary John Denham, Mr Middleton said: "in describing these communities as 'broken', it's insulting".
The Conservatives' David Cameron had received applause from activists as he visited the city museum the previous evening.
