East unleashed at waterfront festival in dragon boat races

Clarence Dock in Leeds was transformed into a world of Dragon Boat racing at the weekend as teams of local businesses competed against each other.

The city played host to a number of activities on water and dry land on Saturday and yesterday which brought the waterfront to life at four festival sites.

This year the fourth annual Leeds Waterfront Festival collaborated with Leeds Community Foundation’s Dragon Boat Festival in a joint waterfront spectacular.

Attractions at Granary Wharf included live music, canoeing taster sessions and food stalls.

Many waterfront restaurants and chefs, including James Martin of TV’s Saturday Kitchen and chefs from the Mint Hotel were also offering tastings along the waterfront.

Thwaite Mills hosted Leeds MG Classic Car Club, with a display of classic cars, along with a craft fair and other activities.
