Drivers warned over road repairs

MOTORISTS are being warned in advance of work starting on road repairs on the A63 in Hull.

Work on the Garrison Road roundabout begins on Monday, February 21, and will involve various overnight lane closures. The Plimsoll Way access to the roundabout will also be closed, with a diversion in place.

The following Sunday, work begins on the westbound carriageway between Mytongate Interchange and Daltry Street flyover. It will involve occasional overnight closures of the A63 westbound between Mytongate Interchange and Daltry Street flyover, again with a diversion in place.

In addition, one lane will be closed overnight on the A63 westbound and Ferensway approaches to Mytongate Interchange, and parts of the interchange will also be closed, with additional diversions in place. All closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

Steve Wright, project manager for the Highways Agency, said: “We are carrying out these works overnight, when traffic flows are lower, in order to minimise disruption to road users. However, we would advise anyone intending to travel in the area to plan in advance and allow extra time for their journeys.”
