Distinctive walking sticks stolen in house burglary

DISTINCTIVE walking sticks were stolen along with garden machinery during a burglary at a house near Helmsley in North Yorkshire.

Painted walking sticks featuring hand carvings of various creatures' heads were taken in the raid at the address on the A1257 north of Helmsley.

Each carving has a small acorn on the back of the depicted creatures’ head.

They include a barn owl, a labrador with a pheasant in its mouth, a leaping salmon and a labrador with a salmon in its mouth amongst others.

The burglary happened just before 11pm on August 7, but police only released details today (Mon Sep 3).

Police are appealing for information about any possible suspects seen in the area at the time.
