Dell’Olio ‘taking legal action over Sven book’

Nancy Dell’Olio claims she is taking legal action for “breach of confidentiality” over disclosures about her relationship with former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson in his memoir.

The Italian said court agreements had previously been put in place which prevented them from disclosing details of their lives together and she said the contents of the book breached these.

In an interview with ITV’s This Morning she said her legal team was now involved as a result of the publication of the book, Sven: My Story which came out last week.

And she said it was the publication of her own book which led to them splitting up because he was unhappy that she was planning to include him.

“He said ‘no I will not accept it’,” she told presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. “He was part of my life for 10 years, of course he has to be in a book.”

Eriksson’s book – which Ms Dell’Olio conceded she has not read – says of her: “She demanded constant attention, and I got more and more irritated with her.”

Ms Dell’Olio said she was surprised by the book’s content, adding: “He was not forced to stay with me for almost 10 years. There were beautiful moments, there were absolutely terrible moments. I was definitely in love with him, I do think he was in love with me.”
