Yorkshire police officer charged with allowing his wife to accept speeding ticket on his behalf

A West Yorkshire Police officer charged with perverting the course of justice allowed his wife to accept a speeding ticket on his behalf, it has been confirmed.

Leeds-based PC Mark Hinchliffe, 42, has been suspended from duty ahead of his appearance at Bradford Magistrates Court this week alongside his wife Lisa, 38.

The couple have been jointly charged with perverting the course of justice by allowing Lisa Hinchliffe to accept a speeding ticket on her husband’s behalf, knowing she had not committed the traffic offence.

The speeding offence took place in Leeds last year. Lisa Hinchliffe worked for West Yorkshire Police in a civilian role at the time, but has since resigned.

The couple live at Moorside Drive in Drighlington. The alleged speeding took place when PC Hinchliffe was off-duty.
