Teenager denies he filmed girl having sex

A TEENAGER has denied secretly filming a girl on his mobile phone while she was having sex with a friend of his.

Nathan Jones told a jury at Leeds Crown Court yesterday he was asleep upstairs at the time and did not make the recording.

The jury heard the girl realised something was wrong when another man, Michael Hoyle, fell out of a wardrobe while watching her with Jake Clancy-Winfield at Jones’s former home in George Street, Wakefield.

Tamara Pawson, prosecuting, said the girl was then unaware that Jones had also been allegedly recording through a window.

His mobile phone was later seized and the recording of the couple having sex was found on it.

She told the jury Clancy-Winfield and Hoyle had pleaded guilty to their part in the incident.

Jones, 19, denies two charges of voyeurism on July 5, 2009, one alleging he watched the girl in a private act for his own sexual gratification and the second that he recorded the act for his or a third person’s gratification.

The girl told the jury she went round to the address after receiving text messages from Clancy-Winfield and joined him, Jones, Hoyle and a fourth man who were watching television.

Later Jones said he was going to bed. Hoyle after whispering something she did not catch to Clancy-Winfield said he was going to the toilet. He did not return.

She and Clancy-Winfield went to his bedroom, began kissing and having sex, with him insisting on leaving the light on.

When Hoyle suddenly fell out of the wardrobe she said Clancy-Winfield was smirking but claimed he had no idea he was there. She argued with him about that but did not then take it further.

Jones said he put his phone on charge when he went to sleep and denied any filming.

The trial continues.
