Teen charged with attempted murder of girl, 12, in Ilkley

A TEENAGE boy from Ilkley has been charged with the attempted murder of a 12-year-old girl in Ilkley.

The 16-year-old, also from Ilkley, is further charged with committing an offence with the intention of committing a sexual offence and possessing an offensive weapon.

It follows reports of a girl being assaulted in Ben Rhydding on Sunday morning.

The teenager was remanded in custody at Bradford Youth Court and will next appear before Bradford Crown Court on April 30.
