Murder suspect held after woman's death in Sheffield is bailed

A TEENAGER arrested on suspicion of murdering a 50-year-old woman in Sheffield has been released on bail by police.

The woman, named locally as Gillian Poulson, died in the early hours of yesterday morning at the Northern General Hospital following an aleged altercation at the Manor Social Club on City Road on Sunday night.

Police said today that an 18-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday has been bailed.

Detective Chief Inspector David Stopford said: “A 50-year-old woman was admitted to the Northern General Hospital in the early hours of Monday and sadly died a short time later.

“We know this woman was at the Manor Estates Social Club in City Road earlier on Sunday evening where an alleged altercation has taken place.

“What I need is for people who were at the venue on Sunday night and have been witnesses to what took place to come forward so we can establish the circumstances leading to this woman’s injuries.”
