Leeds station sex attack: Police issue CCTV photo

POLICE today issued a photo of a man they want to trace in connection with a sex attack on a 69-year-old woman at Leeds station.

Detectives said the woman was “inappropriately touched” on the evening of Saturday, June 18 after stepping off a train from London.

Det Sgt Matt Davies of British Transport Police, said: “As she walked along platform 8 with a friend, they were passed by two couples of men and women. One of the men nearest the victim then leant over and touched her indecently.”

Today’s release came after weeks of inquiries by officers and “a number of leads”.

Det Sgt Davies said: “Incidents like this are rare on the railway network, but are always treated very seriously. I urge anyone with any information, or who recognises the man in the CCTV image, to come forward.”
