Answer to man's death lies within local community say police
The officer leading the investigation said he believes the answer to determining the circumstances behind the death of Steven Fretwell lies within the community of Laughton and Dinnington where he lived.
Det Supt Matt Fenwick said: “We believe the answer as to who is responsible for Mr Fretwell’s death could lie within the community.

Hide Ad“Our officers will be in Dinnington today, flooding the area with our presence, to appeal to members of the public for information.
“During the course of our investigation so far, we have explored numerous lines of enquiry, spoken to a number of witnesses and analysed extensive amounts of CCTV footage.
“Today, we will be handing out posters and speaking to members of the public, with the hope of gathering as much information as we can to find out what happened to Mr Fretwell.
“If you’re in the area, and know anything about what happened, or saw Mr Fretwell in the day’s leading up to his death, please come and speak to us.”

Hide AdAt about 3.50pm on Sunday 18 December, officers were called to Mr Fretwell’s house in Kingswood Avenue, Laughton, where he was found fatally injured. A post-mortem examination concluded that he died as a result of multiple injuries.
Four men, aged 21, 26, 33 and 35, arrested in connection with Mr Fretwell’s death, remain on bail pending further enquiries.
