Civic reception for Bradford band

A Bradford band is due to be treated to a to a civic reception in the city tomorrow (Friday).

Scars on 45 are to be honoured in a ceremony hosted by the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Mike Gibbons in recognition of their achievements.

The Lord Mayor will welcome the four band members, who all hail from the Bradford district, to City Hall.

They will be given a tour of the Lord Mayor’s rooms and the civic silver before a reception is held in their honour.

The band’s lead singer and guitarist Danny Bemrose said: “We are all looking forward to getting back to Bradford and it is a great honour for us to be invited by the Lord Mayor of our home city for a civic reception.”

Mr Bemrose will join fellow band members vocalist Aimee Driver, keyboard player David ‘Nova’ Nowakowski and drummer Chris Durling.

The four-piece have enjoyed success in the States, with songs featured on the hit television shows CSI: New York and Grey’s Anatomy.

Scars on 45’s self-titled debut album in 2012 debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, earned critical acclaim, and VH1 named the band a “You Oughta Know Artist” leading to their national TV debut on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. They have been touring America promoting their new album ‘Safety in Numbers,’ due to be released in the UK next month.

Coun Gibbons said: “We have some amazing talent in Bradford and it is a privilege for me to be able to recognise their achievements by inviting these musicians to City Hall.”
