Busiest year to date for motor show

ABOUT 17,000 people visited the latest "Motor Show on The Moor" in Sheffield, which took place earlier this month – making it the busiest in the event's four-year history.

More than 100 cars, including a DeLorean DMC-12 and a fully restored 1936 Austin Clifton that hasn't been out on the road for more than 40 years, were on show at the free event held on August 1.

Attractions also included children's rides, a variety of stalls and a programme of entertainment.

Sandra Barley, The Moor's centre liaison manager, said: "The Motor Show on The Moor is one of our most popular attractions and we've been thrilled with the interest this year.

"The weather stayed fine and it was the perfect way to showcase our glittering new public realm work which includes new paving, seating and street lighting."
