Boy, 12, ‘critical’ after bike accident in Selby

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was in a “critical” condition in a Leeds hospital after being knocked off his bike yesterday.

The child was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary after the accident at Riccall, near Selby.

He had been riding along a track from Holly House Farm towards Kelfield lane when he was hit by a purple Ford Escort.

The road remained closed until 10.10pm last night while crash investigators examined the scene. Local diversions were in place.

The male car driver, from the Selby area, was unharmed.
