Blind man robbed in street

POLICE are appealing for help after a blind man had his bag stolen from him in the street.

The incident happened in the Burley area between 9am and 10am on Tuesday.

The victim, who was using a white stick, was approached by a young man with a local accent who put his hand on his shoulder and said: “Give us your money”.

A second person then went through his pockets which were empty.

They then stole a plastic bag he was carrying, which contained personal papers.

The victim was said to be “shocked and disgusted” by the incident.
