Blankets away as bed race contest starts
Although it doesn't take place for another six months, on June 12, entry forms are now available for the 45th great Knaresborough bed race.
First held in 1966, the event usually attracts about 30,000 visitors each year to see the beds and teams parade through the town before the race down the River Nidd. The Lions Club organisers have expanded this year’s event from 86 to 90 teams of six, each paying 60 to enter, with more details being available at www.knaresborough.co.uk/bedrace.
