Beckham’s pasta sauce passes the taste test

David Beckham has revealed his children adore his cooking – because he is a dab hand with pasta sauce.

The football star said he mastered the recipe while he was on loan to AC Milan.

And in an interview to be screened today for BBC children’s bulletin Newsround, he told how his children go without pocket money if they do not do their chores.

He said: “Without a doubt, they have to earn it.

“They have their chores. They have to put their plates in the dishwasher or make their bed in the morning – and if they don’t do it they don’t get their pocket money.”

In the interview to tie in with Father’s Day, the father of four said his cookery was a hit with his children.

Beckham said: “I always cook for them. They love my bolognese because when I lived in Italy for a while, I went to a cooking school.”

It comes after his wife has repeatedly posted messages on Twitter about the goodies she has been cooking.

Beckham also said that they share the responsibilities of taking a tough line with the children where needed.

“Victoria’s the strict one to a point and after that I kind of take over. But we’re both kind of strict, we were brought up like that.”
