Appeal renewed over missing man

POLICE are hoping the approach of the festive season will help prompt new information in the search for missing Grimsby man Michael Lee.

Mr Lee, 75, who lives in the Bargate area of the town, was reported missing on Wednesday, March 16, and has not contacted his family or friends since, which is described as “totally out of character”.

As Christmas approaches and no further information has come to light, police are again asking the public to consider whether they know anything which could help trace him.

It is not known what he was wearing, but it is likely that he has taken his blue Mercedes C220, which has a registration number of KO04 HTP.

The retired businessman made his last known phone calls shortly before going missing and these were to cancel a hair appointment and his newspapers.

In June, his nephew, Graham Lee, described him as “fairly outgoing, quite chirpy and a true gentleman”, but said the family had endured “endless sleepless nights” wondering where he had gone.

He added: “He’d been ill for a couple of weeks, but even that wasn’t an indication he was going to do something.”
