Alarm thieves get away

Two security-conscious shoplifters who stole burglar alarms from a DIY store are being sought by police.

The pair were seen placing two wireless alarm systems into a shopping trolley at a B&Q store in Crawley, West Sussex.

A dehumidifier was also taken off the shelves before the men put the goods through a hole broken into a fence at the back of the garden centre section at about 6pm last Tuesday.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “This pair obviously recognise the need to secure their homes against fellow villains, but the way they’ve gone about it just isn’t lawful.”

Images of two men wanted for questioning in connection with the thefts have been issued by police. Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
