Rural broadband provider promises price freeze pledge for 2024 – switch to Quickline

As consumers look set to face a rise in broadband expenses this spring, rural broadband provider Quickline Communications has promised not to follow the pack with sneaky mid-contract rises – switch now.

During 2023, some broadband prices rocketed by more than 14% with costs linked to inflation rates. While the expected increases may be slightly lower this year, the news will still be unwelcome during the current cost-of-living crisis.

Rural broadband provider Quickline Communications, which caters for hard-to-reach communities in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, has pledged not to push up its prices and promised a price freeze throughout 2024.

Quickline has also supported the recent move by Ofcom to ban mid-contract price hikes, after the UK communications regulator reviewed the policy.

Championing broadband needs for rural communities

Quickline has applauded moves to protect consumers from underhand cost increases.

Sean Royce, CEO of Quickline Communications, said: “We wholeheartedly welcome the move by Ofcom to ban unfair mid-contract price rises, in the interests of the consumer.

“We have said for a long time now that these hikes are not fair, they are not appropriate and they are not right, more so than ever before with the cost-of-living crisis when every penny counts.”

He added: “Consumers need the reassurance that the price they sign up for is the price they will pay, in pounds and pence and for the full duration of their contract.

“Last year we reaffirmed our two-year price freeze, removing the fear of cost hikes for our customers at a time when major broadband providers significantly increased their tariffs – many by far more than inflation.

“That promise remains, with no customers to pay more than the price they agreed when they first signed their contract with Quickline.

“The announcement by Ofcom to ban inflation-linked price hikes will go some way to providing that peace of mind for millions of customers although unfortunately it won’t come in time for this April.”
