On the grapevine

I was fortunate to receive two copies of the excellent book about Manzanilla, written by Christopher Fielden and Javier Hidalgo, published by Grub Street. I will be happy to put my spare copy in the post to the person who can tell me in (about) 50 words why they like Manzanilla. Just tasted

The new 2008 vintage of Vialba Malbec from Argentina is now on the shelves at Majestic and is tasting even better than previous vintages.

There is lush, deep red fruit, rolled up with a touch of spice and chocolate, but there is structure, and balance.

A terrific wine for autumn into winter, and on offer at Majestic down from 9.99 to 8.99 on multibuy until August 30.

Old wine lists

I have been unable to respond to Mr Howden who contacted me about some old wine lists from the 1950s that he has discovered. I would be delighted to take a look at them, but please can he contact me again.
