On the grapevine

There are still some tickets available for wine tasting events at The York Festival of Food and Drink. Charles Metcalfe will be at Melton's Too in Walmgate on Saturday, September 18 at 2.30pm to talk about sherry and tapas (£5.50).

There is a grand St Emilion dinner in the Lord Mayor's Mansion House on Thursday, September 23, (65) and local merchant Field and Fawcett will run the Festival Wine Fair on Saturday, September 25 in the Guildhall from noon until 4pm and 6pm to 9pm (15). Spanish latitudes

The tastings programme at Latitude in The Calls, Leeds this month takes a serious look at Spain. Every Friday evening, from 5pm to 7pm, corks will be pulled on a couple of wines for anyone to have a taste. Next Friday has Beronia and Via Albina Rioja.
