The annual excuse to escape the family, otherwise known as the Fiendish Wine Quiz will be published on these pages and the prize will be a two-night trip to the Spanish wine region of Navarra. The first few questions will be about this region. Because many readers will be away or recovering on January 1, I have decided to allow entries to be made on plain paper as well as the normal entry form. This means that, even if you miss your usual copy of the Yorkshire Post you can see the quiz on the YP website, www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/wine

Just tasted

Sipped last week by the side of the Douro in a fairly foggy Porto, Taylor's 10 year-old Port was just the thing. It is full of figgy fruit overlaid with nuts and raisins and was excellent on its own but at home I like to pour this alongside a chocolate pud or a piece of brie. Majestic 17.99.
