Cao Verdejo 2009 Rueda, Spain, Morrisons, down from 6.49 to 4.99 until tomorrow. Only one day left on this offer, but it is well worth grabbing a bottle of this crisp, lively, pineapple-charged wine. A perfect aperitif.

Paul Mas Vermentino 2009, France, Majestic, down from 7.99 to 5.99 on multibuy. A delicious wine with light, nutty and herb-tinged aromatic fruit, with crisp, racy acidity and a structure suited to fish, cold meats and creamy pasta.

Tesco Finest Old Vines Garnacha 2009, Spain, down from 6.99 to two for 10 starting Monday November 8 until November 30.Mentioned recently, but now I have visited the winery I am even more impressed by this wine. It has deep bramble fruit with a long juicy finish.

Kanonkop Kadette 2009 South Africa, Sainsbury down from 10.99 to 8.24 until December 14. A substantial slug of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot in this blend rounds out and softens the Pinotage giving positive chunky plummy fruit with an elegant style. A wine for winter evenings.
